East Palestine-

Virginia J. Cochran, 90, a longtime resident of East Palestine, passed away July 31, 2022, at East Liverpool Hospital following a brief illness.

Virginia was born June 20, 1932, in East Liverpool, OH, daughter of the late Raymond and Virginia E. Wine Virden.

She was a member of Abundant Life Fellowship in New Waterford. Virginia worked as a caregiver to area families and also at Bel Ter China in East Palestine prior to working in the family business as owner/operator of Cochran Wholesale Florist Supply/Green Valley Wholesale for a number of years prior to her retirement. When not working, she enjoyed gardening, canning, growing flowers, traveling, and most importantly spending time with her family.

Virginia is survived by two sons, George W. (Joni) Cochran, Jr. of East Palestine, Jason Cochran of East Palestine; four daughters, Deborah (Bert) Dawson of Calcutta, Diana (Paul) Parks of East Palestine, Darlene (Mark) Peddicord of East Palestine, Doreen (David) Watson of Alliance; two brothers, Dick (Betty) Virden of North Carolina, David (Alice) Virden of Glenmore, OH; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband George W. Cochran, Sr. in 2011 as well as four brothers and six sisters.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Schoch officiating. A private burial will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
