East Palestine-

Shirley K. Young, 82, passed away December 20, 2025, at St. Elizabeth's Health Center in Boardman.

Shirley was born April 16, 1943, in East Palestine, daughter of the late Everett White and Helen Dickens.

She was a 1962 graduate of East Palestine High School and worked as a waitress for local area restaurants. Shirley enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing bingo, watching Days of Our Lives, having lunch with her classmates, but especially spending time with her grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Jamie Beth Young and Nancy Ann (David) Young; four grandchildren, Dakota Shaffer, Araya Young, Michael Gonter and Abigail Gonter; step sons, Jerry Young, David (Becky) Young, Robert  (Boo)Young; step daughter, Sally (Wayne) Stamp; siblings, Gary White, Beverly Grimes, Bonita Brenner, Don (Ruth) White, as well as many step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Young, a sister, Norma Peterson, a brother-in-law, Karle Peterson, two brothers, Leroy and Dan White, a stepdaughter, Mary Flynn; a stepdaughter in law, Deloris Young; and one brother, William in infancy.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday December 29, 2025, at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. The family will receive friends prior to services from 11-1 on Monday.
