Shirley Ann Gorby, 87, a lifelong resident of East Palestine, passed away March 31, 2023, at St. Elizabeth's Boardman.

Shirley was born April 14, 1935 in Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late John and Anna Pilner Lindner.

Shirley was a graduate of East Palestine High School and a member of the Enon Valley Presbyterian Church for more than 60 years. She was employed at Kenmar until their closing and as a secretary at Sandy & Beaver Insurance Company.  In her spare time, she was an avid crafter who enjoyed ceramics and crochet.  She also liked going to the casino and spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Gizmo.  Over the years, Shirley was a volunteer with many local organizations including the East Palestine Alumni Association, the East Palestine Scholarship Committee, and the East Palestine Charter Committee.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Dave (Sharon) Myers and Wayne (Cindy) I. Gorby II; a daughter Carol McRoberts; three grandchildren, Greg (Hali) Myers, Daniel (Renee) McRoberts and Rachel (Chris Ramos) Myers; three great grandchildren, Elli Myers, Cooper McRoberts, and Luis Ramos and one brother Harry (Janet) Lindner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wayne I. Gorby in 2010, as well as two brothers John and Tommy Lindner.

Following Shirley's wishes no services will be observed.
