East Palestine-

Sandra E. Riggs, 63, passed away October 14, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Health Center in Boardman surrounded by family.

She was born March 14, 1963, in Youngstown, daughter of Eugene and Gerry (Yurcic) Riggs.

Sandy was a lifelong resident of East Palestine and a 1981 graduate of East Palestine High School. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Sandy worked as an X-Ray Tech and later in medical records for TMMG and Southwoods Health for many years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, euchre, visiting casinos, zoos, fairs and watching the Browns.

Sandy is survived by her mother, Gerry Riggs; two sisters, Sharon and Debbie Riggs of New Waterford; two brothers, Michael Riggs of Bedford Heights and Daniel Riggs of New Waterford.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Riggs, her paternal grandparents, Garfield and Laura Deem Riggs and her maternal grandparents, Ferdinand and Helen Yurcic.

A catholic prayer service will be held Wednesday at 6:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Father Chad Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to services from 4:00-6:00 PM. A private burial will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
