Salem-

Rita K. Smith, 63, passed away November 19, 2025, at the Salem Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness.

Rita was born June 12, 1962, in Jamestown, OH, daughter of the late Robert and Ida Fite Smith.

She was a longtime resident of Old Hickory, TN, before moving home to Salem to spend time with family when she became ill. Rita worked for Fed Ex for over 15 years and loved working. She was a long-standing member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Goodlettsville, TN. She was a woman of God and tried to bring as many people to Jesus as she could. She enjoyed playing bingo and gathering with others to play cards, but she was the happiest when spending time with her family.

Rita is survived by her husband, Floyd Smith; three daughters, Ida Mae Smith of Struthers, Holly Delucia of Salem, Amanda Ratcliff of Canton; a brother, Steven Smith; two sisters, Cathy (John) McCormick and Teresa (Larry) Flat as well as several grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

No formal services will be announced at this time.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
