Richard L. Boyles, 66, of Kibler Road, passed away at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Covington Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where he had been a patient.

Rich was born August 3, 1951 in Salem, a son of the late Harold and Donelda (Kiehl) Boyles and had been a life-long resident of the area.  He was a 1969 graduate of East Palestine High School.  Rich retired from NRG as a power plant manager in 2014 after twenty-five years of service.  He had also owned and operated Gum's Small Engine Repair in East Palestine for a number of years.

Rich enjoyed fishing, baseball and spending time with the people he loved in the beautiful setting he had created. For fourteen years he enjoyed being a part of the Pittsburgh Pirates Fantasy Camp.

Besides his parents, Harold and Donelda Boyles, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Richard and Helen Winegord.

Rich is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Wendy (Winegord) Boyles; a son, Jay (Samantha) Boyles of Industry, PA; a daughter, Jody (Jeff) Hardy of Louisville; three grandchildren, Dylan, Jordan and Jackson; a brother, Ken (Carol) Boyles of Austintown; a sister, Linda (Terry) Pitzer of New Waterford, his sister-in-law, Carol (Rick) Gibson of Shepherdstown, WV; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

Friends will be received from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 15th at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine.  The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 16th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crest Haven Memorial Gardens, New Waterford.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pirates Charities - Miracle League Fields, 115 Federal Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212 to assist in building fields for special needs children.
