East Palestine-

Raymond D. Cable, 84, passed away Friday March 29, 2019 at the East Liverpool City Hospital, where he had been a patient.

Ray was born February 10, 1935 in Somerset, PA, son of the late James S. and Mary Elizabeth Yoder Cable.

He has resided in East Palestine for the past 15 years, coming from Davidsville, PA. He began his career as a Truck Driver when he was 16 years old, driving coal for his Uncle. He then worked various trucking jobs including Crane Company, Teledyne, Earl Sleek Trucking and most recently Jevic Trucking prior to his retirement from trucking. After retirement, he worked as a greeter for Walmart in Chippewa for the past 14 years.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nikki (Campbell); two sons, Darin (Stella) Gamble of East Palestine, Dustin (Diana) Gamble of Phoenixville, PA; two brothers, Jim Cable of Davidsville, PA and Merle Cable of Aurora, IL, as well as four grandchildren Jesse, David, Dusty and Ava.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, David and Danny Gamble and a sister, Norma Rauck.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Fritz Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Kemble Cemetery in Elkrun TWP.
