East Palestine-

Phyllis C. Newton, a lifetime resident of the area, passed away Thursday evening May 25, 2017 at Covington Community Care Center in East Palestine.
She was born October 5, 1924 in Youngstown, daughter of the late Roy George and Bertha Povey Newton.

Phyllis worked as an Assembler for the county workshop, and prior to moving into Covington, enjoyed spending her days walking through Mill Creek Park.

She is survived by a sister; Virginia Vale as well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members and friends.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, as well as a brother; Richard Newton and sister, Mary Jane Weaver.

There will be no services scheduled at this time.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
