Michael Woodrow Montoney, 78, of New Springfield, Ohio, made his transition into the non-physical on April 4, 2022, from cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, children, and one grandchild at home.

He was born in Columbus, Ohio on May 2, 1943. He was married to Judith Louise (Whitney) Montoney for 40 years.

Mike was a man of many careers and passions. He is known for being a musician as part of the Four Trends performing in Columbus, Ohio and will be remembered by his beautiful voice singing along to his favorite 50s/60s music. Early in his career he was a make-up artist, even having the opportunity to work with Diana Ross. He also won an Emmy Award for best makeup for a TV show. Mike is well known for his career as a race horse trainer which started when he bought his first horse, Montgomery Chorus, with his father, Woodrow, that was very successful. He and his wife Judy, who was a jockey, met at the racetrack. He was also an entrepreneur owning The Corral Family Restaurant and Mike's Famous Coney Island Hot Dog stand, a truck driver, in car sales, and retired as the Head of Security with Securitas at General Motors in Lordstown, Ohio.

Above all of his personal achievements, he took the most pride in his family. He was a phenomenal husband, father, and papa who passed down ambition, determination, generosity, and gratitude that is easy to recognize in his family.

Mike was preceded by his mother, Anna Mary (Oger) Montoney, his father Woodrow Bruce Montoney, stepfather Clifford Campbell, his brother William (Bill) Charles Montoney, and his daughter Rani Louise Montoney.

Mike is survived by his wife Judith Montoney; daughter Desiree Montoney and her significant other Scott Hay, grandson Mason Mulford of Grove City, Ohio; son Michael Montoney of Grove City, Ohio; daughter Ashleigh Davis, husband Jason Davis, grandchildren Analise, Corbin, and Jude of East Palestine, Ohio; Michelle Wells, husband Nathan Wells, grandson Asher of Saco, Maine; daughter Mariel Montoney, husband John Maleri of Washington, DC;and a niece, Monica Montoney-Rice, husband Perry Rice of Columbus, Ohio.

It was Mike's wish to not have funeral services, but memories are welcomed by his family.

In closing, as Mike was known to say, "Well, that was a big thing out of the way."
