Melinda M. Floor, 49, passed away October 23, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Melinda was born August 1, 1977, in Salem, OH, daughter of Melvin and Linda (Smith) Gorby.

She worked for a number of years as an LPN for Covington and Hampton Woods and was known for her great work ethic. Melinda loved to play pool and was a member of the APA League for 8 and 9 ball. She ran on Mt. Dew, Dunkin and Pizza Joe’s salads. Melinda loved cows, her dog Gemma and hanging out with her friends for the monthly girl’s night out. She enjoyed scary movies, camping, but most especially loved being a Grammy and watching Marvel movies with her grandson Weston.

Melinda is survived by her husband, Jimmy Floor of Leetonia; two daughters, Sierra (Clay Fennell) McLaughlin of Columbiana, Kylee Floor of Leetonia; a son, Clayton (Miranda Ruegg) McLaughlin of Massillon; mother and step-father, Linda and Harold Stanley; brother, Josh Gorby of Darlington; sister, Melanie Gorby of Negley; her cousin, Shirley Noel Smith of Salem and her beloved grandson who she affectionately called “The Gnome”, Weston MayRobb.

She was preceded in death by a son, Braxton Floor and a cousin, Ralph Butler.

The family requests that you dress in casual attire and share a memory with them on Tuesday October 27, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine.
