East Palestine-

Matt R. Green, 25, was a lifelong resident of East Palestine. His life was needlessly taken Saturday, April 6, 2019 in Youngstown.

Matt was born July 23, 1993 in Akron, OH, son of Robert Green and Teresa Jessop Sprowls.

Matt worked for several years doing various jobs for local manufacturing companies. When not working, he enjoyed playing basketball and watching the Cavaliers. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his mother and step father, Teresa (Thomas) Sprowls of East Palestine; father, Robert Green of Fredericktown; maternal grandfather, Brian Birmingham of East Palestine; step paternal grandparents, Wayne and Kathleen Sprowls of Washington, PA.

He was preceded in death by his sister in infancy, Jennifer Lynn Green and his maternal grandmother, Jeanne Birmingham.

A memorial gathering and time of remembrance will be held Tuesday April 16, 2019 from 11:00-12:00 at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A graveside service will follow at 12:30 at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
