East Palestine-

Mary Ann Huff, 88, a lifelong resident of East Palestine, passed away April 7, 2021 at the Inn at Glennellen in North Lima, where she had resided.

Mary Ann was born January 3,1933 in Salem, OH daughter of the late Ernest Bruno Ferris and Virginia Hilditch Ferris.

She was a graduate of East Palestine High School where she was head majorette and graduated as Valedictorian. She then to went to Kent State, where she was co-head majorette and graduated as Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Chemistry. Her experience as a majorette, helped her form and train the Maryannette drill team. They marched and competed in city and regional competitions and parades and helped influence many young girls.

She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in East Palestine, where she taught CCD for 22 years and was the local president of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers for 25 years. In the early 60's, Mary Ann, along with her husband David, owned and managed residential rental properties for 50 years as well as two boarding houses in East Palestine for 15 years.

Mary Ann is survived by three sons, David (Linda) Huff, Jr. of Hudson, OH, Dan (Patti) Huff of New Waterford and Drew (Donna) Huff of Strongsville; two daughters, Denise (Alex) Tarasenko of Australia, Dawna (Michael) Pickett of Colorado; two sisters, Virginia Kinney of Medina and Elizabeth (Don) Milliken of Beaver Falls, PA; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, David Huff, Sr. in 2014; a brother, Joe Ferris; sister, Cathy Cope; grandson, Alex Tarasenko and a great grandson, Oliver Warner.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, with Father David Misbrener serving as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in East Palestine.
