In Loving Memory of Louise "Nanny" May, she was born September 3, 1929, in New Waterford. Louise May, beloved mother, grandmother, and storyteller, passed away peacefully on September 5th 2025, at the age of 96.

Louise lived a long beautiful, full life rooted in love, family, and cherished memories of her upbringing on the farm.

She was known for her warm heart, her gentle spirit, and the joy she found in sharing stories from her childhood. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she found her deepest happiness in the company of those she loved.

Louise was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 50 years, Howard "Howdy" May; her daughter Linda May; her parents, Margaret and Lloyd Smith; and her three brothers Roy, Lloyd, and Donald Smith and two sisters Mary Pavelko and Virginia Semon.

She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Her daughters Vonda (William IV) Martin and Patti (Gary) Linhart, grandchildren, William (Trisha) Martin V, Jason (Jena) Martin, Ashley (Corrie) Martin, Josh (Kelly) Linhart and
Emily (Chad) Linhart. Louise was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, all of whom brought immense joy to her life and were the pride of her later years.

Her life was a testament to strength, grace, and the beauty of storytelling — a gift she passed down through the generations. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Covington Skilled Nursing Home for their compassion, love, and care in her final years.  As well as a special thank you to the many friends she made while living at Covington, their friendship, laughter, and nighttime hallway snack time brightened her days and brought joy and comfort to her life.

Following Louise's wishes, a private burial will take place at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford. No public services will be observed.
