Bulls Gap, TN – Laura George Chaffin, 58, formerly of Negley, passed away suddenly from natural causes, Thursday, June 1, 2017.

Laura was born December 31, 1958 in Salem, a daughter of the late Charles and Florence Watson George. She had been employed as a waitress for many years.

Laura is survived by a son, Kevin Chaffin, and Grandson, Christyan Chaffin; two brothers, Bill (Michelle) and Barry George and a sister, Denise George all of Negley as well as five nieces and one nephew and a great niece.

A sister, Melanie George preceded her in death.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Negley United Methodist Church, with Cindy Figley officiating. Friends will be received at the church for one hour prior to the service time.

It has been said, "You will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." While that may be true for some, our family has always valued each and every moment shared with our Laura Lynn. From holiday visits to late night talks, she left no doubt -- as a mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt -- of how valued, cherished and very loved we all were by her.
