East Palestine, OH - John Chauncey Zimmerly, 65, of Park Avenue passed away 10:12 p.m. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Salem Regional Medical Center where he had been a patient.

John was born April 14, 1951 in Harrison Township, PA, a son of the late August F. and Marie S. Mason Zimmerly.  He had been employed at various times throughout his career as a mechanic with Nulfco.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1506, East Palestine and an avid John Wayne fan.

John is survived by two daughters, Tamara Lynn Zimmerly, East Palestine, Heather (Christopher) Cetor, Poland; a step-daughter, Angela Marie Zimmerly, Negley; three sisters, Jacquelyn M. (Thomas) Rice, Arnold, PA, Holly E. (Nick) Cunich, Lower Burrell, PA, and Cheryl D. (Frank) Thompson, East Palestine; and two brothers, Kevin W. Zimmerly, East Palestine and Damon T. Zimmerly, Springdale, PA.  Others survivors include his nephews, Richard M. Phillips, Lower Burrell, PA, Thomas B. Rice, Michael S. Rice, and Jared R. (Amber) Thompson all of East Palestine, Jordan E. (Amber) Thompson, Negley, Joel F. (Becca) Thompson, California, Daniel W. Zimmerly, Georgia, Justin A. Zimmerly, Salem, and Anthony M. Zimmerly, Kensington.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, A. Robbin Zimmerly and Shawn Nelson Zimmerly.
