John Ernest Gorby, Sr., 71, a long-time resident of the area, passed away on April 29, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

John was born on September 14, 1949, in Clarkson, Ohio, son of Charles Ernest Gorby and Fern Arlene Peterson Gorby.

He was a member of the United States Army serving in Vietnam and retired from Exochem in East Palestine and then after retirement worked as a farmer at McMasters Farm in Columbiana.  John attended the Greenford Christian Church.

John is survived by his children; John E Gorby Jr. of Leetonia, Heidi L Gorby of New Waterford, Brian Heaton of East Palestine, Brad Heaton of Columbiana, and Brenda (Scott) Williams of Rogers; a brother, Charles (Frances) Gorby of New Waterford and two sisters, Carol Crawford and Sandy (Joe) Pedro both of Columbiana as well as sixteen grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Garnet who passed away on February 25, 2019; a daughter, Patty Blake; son-in-law, Robert Blake; a brother, Paul Gorby; and two sisters, Janet Dickey and Virginia Haldiman.

Following John's wished no services will be observed.
