Carolene "Joanne" Balio, 90, passed away January 25, 2026, at the Parkside Health Center in Columbiana.

She was born on September 23, 1935, in Tidal, PA, daughter of the late Floyd and Margaret Gould.

Joanne retired from Kingwood Ceramics in East Palestine after working a number of years as a finisher. She enjoyed spending time with her family and most especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Jim) Matthews of East Palestine and Jackie Knight of East Palestine; two sons, Tim (Rose) Balio of Truxton, MO and Larry (Pic) Balio of Goldsboro, NC; as well as 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Dennis Balio as well as two siblings, Jack Gould and Betty Bish.

Following Joanne's wishes, no services will be observed. She will be interred at Crest Haven Memorial Park at a later date.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
