East Palestine-

Jean K. Riddle, 86, a lifelong resident of East Palestine, passed away April 20, 2025, at her home following a lengthy illness.

She was born on January 29, 1939, at her family's farmhouse on the Parker Dairy Farm. Her parents, Kenneth and Maxine Reese Parker preceded her in death.

Jean was a lifelong active member of the First Church of Christ in East Palestine where she served as the church pianist and a member of the choir. Early in her career, Jean taught in New Springfield Local Schools before transferring to East Palestine City School District. There, she taught at Unity Elementary and later became the Language Arts teacher at the middle school before retiring in 1999 after 37 years as an educator.

She was also a longtime member of the East Palestine Garden Club.

Jean is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill Riddle; two daughters, Laurie (Zoe Walsh) Riddle of Stow, Leigh Ann (Mike) Byrne of Cincinnati; two brothers, John (Gail) Parker and Donald "Tub" Parker; a sister, Donna (Toby) Holzer and eight grandchildren, whom she loved spending her time with, Shane Riddle, Hannah (Logan) Stoldt, Jason Walsh, Michael (Maddie), Danny, Katey, Emily and Erin Byrne as well as her many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Parker.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday April 23, 2025 at 12:30 PM at the First Church of Christ in East Palestine. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 11:00-12:30 prior to the service. The family will attend a private burial at Glenview Cemetery, then a time of fellowship will be observed in Century Hall at the church immediately following.

Memorial contributions can be made in Jean's name to the Baptistry Replacement fund c/o the First Church of Christ.
