James W. Tauchar, 71, passed away unexpectedly July 10, 2021 after a day of doing what he loved, playing golf.

James was born September 21, 1950, in Salem, OH, son of the late William and Ruth Ann Kelly Tauchar.

He was a 1968 graduate of East Palestine High School. James was a proud US Air Force Veteran having served from 1972 until his retirement in 1992 with a rank of Master Sergeant. Although he served on many bases, his longest and most meaningful assignment was at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, AZ. He was also retired from A K Steel after 20 years of employment.  James was a member of the East Palestine Eagles # 1506 and the East Palestine Country Club. He loved playing golf and watching the Steelers and Buckeyes.

James is survived by a daughter, Jaime (Martin) Rodriguez of Tucson, AZ; son, Brian Tauchar of Tucson, AZ; two brothers; Bill (Shirley) Tauchar of Pittsgrove, NJ, Paul (Cindy) Tauchar of Clinton, MS; three sisters, Patty Schultz of Houston, TX, Bonnie (John) Martin of East Palestine, Paula (Dave) Hale of Kathleen, GA and five grandchildren, Miranda, Izabella, Martin IV, Kaden and Cyler.

He was preceded in death by his partner in life, Linda McCamon and two brothers, John Tauchar and Gary Tauchar.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday July 15, 2021 at 6:00 PM at the East Palestine Fraternal Order of Eagles. All other services will be private.
