James "Ed" Kimmell, Sr., 84, passed away August 9, 2021 at the Christian House in East Palestine.

Ed was born June 25, 1937 in Edinburg, PA, son of the late Charles and Leila Boyer Kimmell.

He was a self-employed truck driver for over 50 years. Ed was a proud veteran of the US Army and a collector of antique gas engines, Huber and Case tractors. He was an awesome gardener and could grow anything. He always enjoyed sharing stories from his childhood of farming and milking cows.

Ed will be greatly missed by his family, including his son, Ed (Linda) Kimmell, Jr. and four grandchildren, Derek Kimmell of North Lima, Evan Kimmell of New Waterford, Trevor Kimmell of New Springfield and Austin Kimmell of East Palestine.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Paul Kimmell and a sister, Jayne Simon.

Per Ed's wishes, a private burial was held Thursday at West Glade Run Cemetery in Kittanning, PA.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Christian House for all the compassion and care they showed Ed.
