East Palestine-

James E. Hartman, 81, passed away Sunday August 22, 2021, at the Hospice House in Poland.

James was born July 4, 1940, in Negley, OH, son of the late James and Gladys George Hartman.

He was a lifelong resident of East Palestine, and was employed as a Truck Driver for Nulfco, and previously worked at Magneco-Metrel in Negley for 25 years as well as various other local companies for a total of 55 years. He was a Methodist by faith and a member of the steelworker's union. When not working, he enjoyed being with his family and most especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed working and was still working up until he became ill.

James is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathy (Gorby) Hartman; two sons, Jim (Rhonda) Hartman of Columbiana, Jamie (Beth) Hartman of East Palestine; two daughters, Debbie (Mitch) Mahon of Negley, Kathy (Matt) Gernert of East Palestine; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Diane Marie Hartman in infancy and Carol Dawn Hostnik as well as a brother, Harold Beabout.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to his granddaughters, Heather House, Holly Short and Alicia Clark as well as his former daughter-in-law, Karen Stratton.
