East Palestine-

James E. Cope, 83, passed away peacefully November 4, 2026, at the Hospice House in Poland.

James was born January 18, 1943, in Rogers, OH, son of the late Clarence and Mildred (Griffith) Cope.

James worked as an owner/operator truck driver for Cope Trucking prior to his retirement. He was a methodist, a member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing camping and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his wife, Michelle Cope; three daughters, Kristi (Tim) Hofus of California, Nancy Hostetter of Calcutta and Candice DeSanzo of East Palestine as well as nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded by a daughter, Lisa Lynn Cope and a sister, Dorita Black.

Jim’s family will announce a celebration of life service at a later date.
