Jack L. Reed, 82, passed away May 22, 2026, at his home.

Jack was born in Salem, OH August 20, 1943, son of the late Chester and Vivian Kirtley Reed.

He was a lifelong resident of East Palestine and a 1961 graduate of East Palestine High School. Jack was a member of the East Palestine Moose Lodge and worked a number of years as a draftsman prior to his retirement.

Jack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty (Neil) Reed; a son, Scott (Beth) Reed of East Palestine; two daughters, Jackie Groves of Youngstown and Diana (Vic) Coleman of East Palestine; sister, Teri (Kenneth) Nickalo; eight grandchildren, Josh Briones, Annie (Matt) Rose, Ben Coleman, Christine Groves, Amanda (RJ) Weinberg, Lauren (Ian) Groves, Jonathan Groves and Joshua Crum as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Duane Reed, a sister, Janice Heasley and a son-in-law, Larry Groves.

Following Jack's wishes, no services will be observed.

Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine is in charge of arrangements.
