East Palestine-

Helen M. Morris, 104, passed away February 26, 2023, at the Shepherd of the Valley Senior Living Facility in Poland.

Helen was born November 30, 1918, in East Palestine, daughter of the late Elbert and Aurora Thorpe Ward.

She was a graduate of East Palestine High School and went on to attend Miami University in Ohio where she played Lacrosse. She worked for many years with her husband's family at Morris Golden Dawn Grocery Store in East Palestine. Later she worked for Miller Spreader Company in Youngstown for nearly 25 years prior to her retirement. She was an avid golfer and played in many golf leagues. Helen enjoyed playing the game until the age of 99.

Helen is survived by three sons, Stephen (Diane) Morris of Columbiana, Jeff (Gerrianne) Morris of Wexford, PA, Mitchell (Linda) Morris of Catawba, NC; two daughters, Deborah Dickey of Plano, TX, Jennifer (Tony) Rosback of Scottsdale, AZ; son-in-law, Jeff Jolliff of Georgetown, KY; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Morris in 1972, a daughter, Melissa Jolliff, brother, Lester Ward and a sister, Doris Powers.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Fritz Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Monday. A private burial will follow at Glenview Cemetery in East Palestine.
