Harry L Veon's tour of duty from the Vietnam War ended at his residence November 4, 2018 at 9 p.m. due to Agent Orange related cancers. Harry was born November 30, 1949 in Beaver Falls, PA, the only child of Leroy Lester and Maxine (Bowen) Veon.

Harry served in the United States Army as a PFC during the Vietnam War. He was awarded numerous combat awards, CIB, and Bronze Star. Harry walked point "to save his platoon." Harry was previously employed by Unity Township, Windsor House, Jarrett's and retired from Snyderman Brothers of Youngstown; his favorite job was bar tending at the Ranch with Wilber Summers.

Harry is survived by his wife Margaret (Workman) Veon whom he married May 21, 1981; son Robert (Elisha) Veon, and grandson Sterling Veon; brothers-in-law, Richard (Denise) Workman, Tim (Carrie) Workman, Tony (Tena) Workman; and Sgt Barry Smith, his brother in war, who established a bond beyond family in situations no one should ever have to face.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leroy and Maxine Veon, in-laws Otis and Jo Workman, Marie Workman and David Workman.

Harry has requested no funeral service and cremation with a Celebration of Life service to be announced at a later date.

The family has requested that memorial contributions in Harry's name go to the DAV, (Disabled American Veterans). A very special thank you to: Dr. Mendez, Dr. Demas and Dr. William Lee of SRMC, and Harbor Light Hospice. May God Bless you all.
