East Palestine-

Glenn F. Thompson, 92, a longtime resident of East Palestine passed away April 1, 2022 at his home with family by his side.

He was born February 9, 1930 in Aliquippa, PA, son of the late James and Mary Helen Gouker Thompson.

Glenn was a Methodist by faith. He was a Korean war veteran of the US Army and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Glenn worked for J&L Steel in Aliquippa from 1954 until his retirement in 1985. He also was the former owner of Harry's Grill. When not working, Glenn enjoyed woodworking.

Glenn is survived by a son, Randy (LuAnn) Thompson of North Canton; three daughters, Kim Thompson of East Palestine, Diane (Jeffery) Haldiman of East Palestine, Tami (Dave) Allan of Green, OH; a sister, Thelma (Lee) Pillar of Monaca, PA; nine grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline Thompson in 2000; four brothers, Jim, Dave, Harry and Wesley Thompson; a sister, Emma Enders and two great granddaughters, Eliza and Evelyn.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with interment to follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens.
