East Palestine-

Gary L. McGath, 81, passed away April 22, 2022 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Gary was born July 22, 1940 in Darlington, PA, son of the late Fred and Lillian Foley McGath.

He was a resident of East Palestine, and formerly lived in Poland, OH for several years. Gary worked as a District Sales Manager for Frito Lay for 20 years, after retiring he then worked for Dan-Dee Potato Chip from several years as a District Sales Manager prior to his retirement. He was an avid Browns and Indians fan. Gary loved the game of baseball and played from little league all the way to semi pro ball as a centerfielder.

Gary is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sandy Kirtley McGath; two sons, Perry (Sally) McGath of East Palestine, Bradley (Cathy) McGath of Grove City, OH; a daughter, Carrie McGath of Chicago; a sister, Shelby Meier of Chippewa, PA and a grandson, Cody McGath.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister, Shirley McCurdy.

A memorial service will be held 11:00am Friday May 6, 2022 at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00am-11:00am.
