Floyd Burson, 76, passed away March 30, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA.

Floyd was born in Unity Twp., OH, January 25, 1945, son of the late Ralph and Mary Burlingame Burson.

He has resided in New Brighton since 2004, coming from South Beaver Twp., and Negley prior.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Monaca, PA. He served alongside his wife on a two-year mission for the church from 2002-2004 in Clarion and Kane. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam Era. Floyd worked for Bell Telephone of PA as an installation and telephone repair tech prior to his retirement.

Floyd is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ethel Davis Burson; two daughters, Golda Hook of Butler, PA, Evelyn Streb of Rochester, PA; two brothers, James Burson of Negley and his twin brother, Lloyd Burson of North Carolina as well as six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his uncle who adopted him, Frederick Burson and his adoptive mother, Ivy Kelly as well as Floyd and Golda Mayes who raised him in Industry, PA after the death of his adoptive parents when he was 13 until adulthood. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Edwin and John Burson and two sisters, Lenora Smith and Ellen Garey.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 – 11:00 AM Monday April 5, 2021 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 114 Church Dr. Monaca, PA. with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. A private family interment will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Garden in New Waterford.

The family and church requests that social distance and mask mandates be followed in order to keep everyone safe.
