Evalyn Lee (Thompson) Hauserman, 93, of Columbiana, formerly of Rogers, Ohio, and Fort Pierce, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025.

Born July 14, 1932, in Negley, Ohio, to the late Curtis and Doratha (Dyke) Thompson, Evalyn's greatest joy was her 75-year marriage to her most loving husband, Donald "Barney" Hauserman, who preceded her in death in February 2022. Their rare and joyful bond was a blessing to all who knew them.

Evalyn began her career as the owner of a beauty shop in Rogers, then successfully ran a floral shop with Barney from their homestead on Carmel Achor Road. A dedicated woman of God, her life was defined by active ministry and helping others. While a member of Clarkson Presbyterian Church, she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir director, and an active leader in the women's association.

Evalyn and Barney later became devoted members of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Her most satisfying work was her Nursing Home Ministry, where she shared God's word and brought smiles and comfort to residents. Her greatest accomplishment, which she often spoke of, was becoming a Certified Lay Minister, sharing sermons at their home church and other Churches in the area.  Soon after her fulfillment and service  she was honored as the Lay Servant of the Year by the Mahoning Valley District Lay Servant Committee.

Evalyn also gave generously of her time, implementing one of the first cancer survivor functions for the American Cancer Society in Columbiana County and volunteering for the Columbiana Career Tech Center, 4-H, and BPW.

She is survived by her baby brother, Bill (Theresa) Thompson of East Palestine, and her brother Carl Sanislo and his wife Kay of North Carolina, and her three daughters: Karen S. Carey (John) of Gardnerville, Nevada; Donna L. Mason (Don) of Salem, Ohio; and Laurie Trotter of Poland, Ohio. She will be truly missed by her loving family, including her 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Evalyn was preceded in death by her brother, Curt (Nancy) Thompson, and sister, Betty (Joe) Taucher.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Pancake Clarkson Road on Saturday, December 13th, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Evalyn's name to Mt. Zion Church.
