New Waterford-

Eugene H. Hunt, 66, a resident of New Waterford, passed away January 14, 2022, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland after a courageous eight-year battle with Kidney Cancer.

Gene was born November 26, 1955, In Canton, OH, son of the late Arson William and Eunice Phillips Hunt.

Gene was a truck driver for PI&I Motor Express he used the cb handle "Gray Ghost."  He was an avid motorhead who enjoyed going to car shows and drag races.  His pride and joy was the antique F-150 truck that he restored.  He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and swimming.  He will be remembered as a prankster who has "gotten" everyone at least once.

Gene is survived by his wife, Christy Morgan; five sons, Gary Hunt of Los Angeles, CA, Christopher Hunt of Canton, OH, Alex Cook and Chase Cook of New Waterford, and Max Hunt of New Waterford; a daughter, Morgan Hunt of New Waterford; a great grandson, Kole Cook of New Waterford; three brothers, Bill Hunt and Jeff Hunt of Canton, OH and Greg Hunt of Louisville, OH; a sister Kelly Kollette of Louisville, OH.

Gene was preceded in death by a son, Corby Gates; and three brothers, Michael, David Lee, and Gary Hunt.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 22, from 11 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with a funeral service to follow.
