Rogers-

Doy D. Thompson, 87, passed away unexpectedly at his residence Saturday January 30, 2021.

Doy was born in Craigsville, WV, April 21, 1933, and resided there until moving to Rogers, OH in 1955. He was the son of the late John and Bessie Peyatt Thompson.

He worked at Darlington Brick from 1957 until his retirement in 1995. Doy was a member of the East Palestine Church of the Nazarene. He loved to fish, hunt, camp and most especially spend time with his many grandchildren.

Doy is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jean Marlatt Thompson; three sons, Jesse (Barb) Thompson of Negley, Harold Dexter and Doy, Jr. (Sally) Thompson both of East Palestine; daughter, Barbara E. Post of East Palestine; 16 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren as well as a sister, Wanda Hedger of East Palestine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as eight siblings, Ellen Davis, Opal Ellison, Elizabeth Sperry, Robert Thompson, Carlos Thompson, Paul Thompson, Leeodis Thompson and Reda Ward.

Due to the pandemic, and concerns for their extended family and friends, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date, when they can all gather safely.
