Dorothy M. Haun, 101, a lifelong resident of Negley, passed away September 1, 2025, in Cincinnati, where she has resided with her daughter-in-law for the past several years.

She was born November 2, 1923, in Negley, daughter of the late Miah "Hap" and Grace Murphy Sutherin.

Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of East Palestine High School. She worked as a secretary at various local auto dealerships throughout the years. She was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church in East Palestine and the East Palestine Country Club where she enjoyed playing on many golf leagues well into her 80's. She was a member of the Ladies Red Hat Society and also enjoyed growing flowers and playing in the dirt.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Patti (Dan) Sutherin of New Waterford; a daughter-in-law, who she resided with, Beverly Haun of Cincinnati; five grandchildren, Michelle (Joe) Musser, Mike (Jenny) Reed, Matt (Shanna) Haun, Chris (Jayma) Haun and Doug Christophersen, as well as 10 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James Haun in 1996, her son, Mick Haun, a granddaughter, Dawn Acus, and a brother, James Sutherin.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 PM Saturday September 6, 2025, at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Cindy Figley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 11:00-12:00 Saturday. A private burial will be held alongside her husband at Union Cemetery in Toronto, OH.
