Negley-

A proud WWII Army veteran, loving father of six, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, Donald Eugene Gorby passed in peace, December 28, 2023, at his home in Negley at the age of 97.

Born in Rogers to Norman Gorby and Mable French Gorby on August 6, 1926.

Donald served in the US Army during WWII. He enjoyed woodworking, carpentry of all kinds and spending time with his family. He was an excellent, caring and loving father, grandfather and loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Donald was a quiet man who always had a smile and was a loving friend to all those that he met.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred, son Donald Scott and daughter Dawn Renee (Barson).

He is survived by three sons and a daughter. Russell (Jayne) Gorby of Tennessee, Larry (Melissa) Gorby of Leetonia, Melvin Gorby of Negley and Wendy Noel of Salem, as well as 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday January 2, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine. A graveside service will follow at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.
