Donald E. Bailes, 74, passed away September 18, 2026, at the Hospice House in Poland following a lengthy illness.

Don was born August 23, 1952, in New Brighton, PA, son of the late Renric and Anna (Miller) Bailes.

He was a longtime resident of the area and an avid Steelers fan. He enjoyed walking in the park, training dogs, gardening and most especially spending time with his family.

Don is survived by his wife of 52 years, Scheery Javens Bailes; four children, Tina (Scott) Frank, Donna (Bob) Little, both of East Palestine; Donnie (Amy) Bailes of North Jackson and John Louthan of Champion; a brother, Edward Bailes, Sr.; sister, Alice Richard; nine grandchildren, Scott, Brittany, Jon, Sean, Jake, Jesse, Justin, Tommy and Connor as well as ten great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clarence, Harry, Thomas and David Bailes and two sisters, Shirley Hysong and Martha Rose.

A funeral service will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 PM. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday prior to services. A private burial will be held at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospice House for the care they showed to Don in his final days.
