East Palestine-

Darlene M. Monte, 83, passed away July 6, 2021 at the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

She was born July 5, 1938 in New Kensington, PA, daughter of the late George and Mayme Bartony Bowser.

Darlene has resided in East Palestine since 1976 and was employed as a Teller at National City Bank in East Palestine for many years prior to her retirement. She was an active member of Christian Assembly Church in Industry, PA. She loved her church and helped with nursery school and served the church wherever she was needed throughout the years.

Darlene is survived by two sons; Mark (Helen) Monte of Derby, KS, Pete (Holly Muransky) Monteleone of Luray, VA; brother, George Bowser of Beaver, PA; eight grandchildren, Mark, Jr., Thomas, William, Anthony, Peter, Rachael, Stephano and Joseph as well as four great grandchildren, Angelo, Iylah, Maximus and Anthony, Jr.

She was preceded in death by her husband Steve Monte in 1986 as well as a sister, Loretta Rowan.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine.
