East Palestine-

Christopher C. Long, 82, passed away May 10, 2024, at St. Elizabeth's Health Center following a brief illness.

Christopher was born May 22, 1941, in Blairsville, PA, son of the late Donald W. and Hazel A. Wynkoop Long.

He was a longtime resident of East Palestine, and a graduate of East Palestine High School. Christopher was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, having served 24 years, before retiring as a Sr. Master Sargeant. After serving in the Air Force Christopher worked as a USAF Contractor for 10 years, prior to his retirement. He was a man of few words, having said," if you have nothing to say, no one will repeat it". He enjoyed bowling, talking about sports, politics, love and spirituality, but mostly spending time with his grandson.

Christopher is survived by his wife of 52 years, Efrosini Kakiousi Long, who he met while stationed in Greece, and married in 1972. He is also survived by two daughters, Gerry (Joseph Malactaris) Long of Campbell; Christina Long of Boardman; sister, Barbara (Jesse) McDade of Negley and a grandson, Christopher Malactaris and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Willard Long as well as a sister, Delores Cracraft.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the New Waterford Cemetery Chapel with Father Joseph DiStefano officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the cemetery chapel.
