Charles J. Frankland, 88, of East Palestine, passed away 2:36 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus.

Charles was born January 16, 1930 in East Palestine, a son of the late William and Lucille Early Frankland and had been a life-long resident of the community. He was a 1948 East Palestine High School graduate and a Veteran of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers serving during the Korean Conflict. He had retired as a machinist at the former Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill.

Charles was a seventy year member of the East Palestine Church of Christ. He also enjoyed tennis, bicycling, woodworking and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Loretta (Stuart) Frankland; three sons, James (Cheryl) Frankland of Poland, Mark (Kathy Mattozzi) Frankland of Struthers, and Robert Frankland of Southington; five grandchildren, Chris, Alysa, Joseph, Daniel and Eric; and two great grandchildren, Molly and Riley. A brother, Richard (Carol) Frankland and a sister-in-law, Mary K. Frankland also survive him.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Frankland and a sister, Donna Jean Dunn Grappo.
