Alberta "Birdie" M. Allen, 94, passed away August 1, 2021 at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center.

She was born July 17, 1927, in Perry County, OH, daughter of the late Sam W. and Clara Shoemaker McGee.

Birdie resided in Buckeye Lake, OH from 1971 until 1989 when she moved to East Palestine. She worked as a waitress and cook at Buckeye Lake Truck Stop for 17 years prior to retirement.

Birdie is survived by her son, Robert (Carol) Allen of Unity Twp.; daughter, Clara J. (Lonnie) Blackburn of Newark, OH; daughter in law, Karen Allen of Bergholz, OH; five grandchildren, Louis Allen, Robert Allen, Jr., Darcie Coffey, Brian Allen, Floyd Morrison; eight great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Allen in 2012 after 66 years of marriage, a son David Allen and a grandson, Aaron Allen.

A private interment will take place at New Lexington Cemetery. No public services will be observed.
