East Palestine-

William Robert Harding, 89, a lifelong resident of the East Palestine area, passed away, September 30, 2026, at Christian House Assisted Living.

Bill was born August 29, 1937, in East Palestine, son of the late Robert and Klare (Flynn) Harding.

Bill owned a video production studio, Harding Productions, where he wrote and produced commercials and videos that highlighted Columbiana County and was employed at WKBN news as a department head. Bill enjoyed a lot of hobbies; playing the trumpet, sailing with his wife, Barbara ,camping, piloting his own airplane and building airplanes. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. His love of the outdoors led him to write a weekly column for the Outdoor Journal and articles for magazines such as Fur, Fish, and Game. He also started a family-driven venture, Sportsman’s Outdoor News, a monthly publication. He was a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America, NRA, the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, and the Leetonia Sportsman Club. He studied music in college, and his family owned the Klare China company that was operated from his parents’ garage.

Bill is survived by his wife of 70 years, Barbara (McCoy) Harding; his children, Chip (Jaymee) Harding of Quinlan, Texas and Pam (Randy) Hull of Cañon City, Colorado; his grandchildren, Tristan (Stacey Dunkin) Hull of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Trevor Hull of Grapevine, Texas; and his great grandchildren, Elora Hull of Security, Colorado and Nick West of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt, M. Kathleen Berresford and several brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held Monday October 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Bill Requardt officiating. The family will receive friends prior to services from 5:00-7:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens on Tuesday.
