East Palestine-

Betty Lou Kaufman, 84, a lifelong resident of East Palestine, passed away February 27, 2023 at Greenbrier Nursing Center in Boardman.

Betty was born May 10, 1938 in New Springfield, OH, daughter of the late Homer and Mable Loucks Freer.

She worked the deli counter at Sami's Quick Stop in East Palestine and Giant Eagle in Salem as well as a cashier for Walmart in Boardman. Betty was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in East Palestine.

Betty is survived by two sons, Richard Kaufman III and David (Kim) Kaufman, both of East Palestine; three daughters, Karen (Wes) Noel of East Palestine, Lori Rubeck of Columbiana, Lisa (Mark) Scobee of Alliance; a brother, Robert Freer of Enon Valley, PA; twenty grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Richard Kaufman in 2019 as well as a sister, Beverly Freer.

A private burial will take place at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in New Waterford. No other services will be observed.
