Bessie J. Scott, 84, passed away September 4, 2026, at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center in Columbiana.

She was born May 11, 1942, in Beaver Falls, PA, daughter of the late Ewalt and Mary Ellen (Riggs) Renn.

Bessie was a member of Petersburg Presbyterian Church and worked as a beautician in Boardman for a number of years. Bessie enjoyed crocheting, sewing, flea markets and auto racing, but was happiest being around her family, most especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (Mary) Scott of Wellsville and James (Amy) Scott of Petersburg as well as four grandchildren, Sean (Melonie) Scott, Sarah (Chase) Robinson, Victor (fiance' Samantha) Scott and Nathan Scott as well as nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Richard Scott.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Thursday at the Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Pastor Nathan Leslie officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 11:00-12:00. A private burial will follow Grandview Cemetery in Beaver Falls.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary's for the care and compassion they showed to Bessie during her stay.
