Wayne "Alex" Walker, 92, of East Palestine, passed away 9:40 p.m., Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Christian House Assisted Living in East Palestine.

Alex was born August 2, 1926 in East Palestine, a son of the late Wesley and Ethel (Lalley) Walker a had been a life-long resident of the community. He had been employed in Maintenance with J.J. Nulf Company, retiring in 1997.

Alex was a US Army Veteran serving during WWII, he was member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4579, the Loyal Order of Moose #467 and the American Legion Post #31, all of East Palestine. He also was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church.

His wife, Hazel L. (Silvis) Walker whom he married March 25, 1949, preceded him in death on October 26, 2014. A grandson, Bradley Walker as well as a sister, Mabel Guy also preceded him in death.

Alex is survived by three sons, Gregory (Peg) Walker and Stephen (Chris) Walker, both of East Palestine, and Wesley (Loretta) Walker of Broken Arrow, OK; a daughter, Gwen (Tom) Leetch of East Palestine; seven grandchildren, Carrie Telischak, Michael Walker, Barry Leetch, Marcy Sokevitz, Carly Brock, Alana Aldana and Sabrina Hollis as well as fifteen great grandchildren.

Following Alex's wishes, no formal services will be observed. A private interment will take place in Glenview cemetery at a later date.
