Albert F. Torrence, 92, of East Palestine, passed away Tuesday evening, January 22, 2019 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Boardman Campus.

Albert was born May 19, 1926 in East Palestine, OH, a son of the late David and Rosina Olivetti Torrence and had been a life-long resident of the community.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Albert enlisted in the US Navy, from 1944 - 1946 and proudly served in the South Pacific as a Signalman. After discharge, he went to work for his brother at the Torrence Coal Company as a Drag Line Operator. Later, he worked for Babcock & Wilcox in Beaver Falls, PA, before retiring as a Foreman in 1987. After retiring, he worked as a Groundskeeper for various local golf courses. He was an avid golfer and won many local tournaments throughout his life. He enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach and playing their courses as well.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mary DeMuzio who passed away February 26, 2016. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jim, Emory, August, Alfred, Denny, Richard, and Henry Torrence; and his sisters, Rose Torrence, Betty Hull and Edith Bartholow.

He is survived by a son, Albert (Maria) Torrence of Beaver, PA; a daughter, Paulette (George) Guy of East Palestine; four grandchildren, Albert, Liza, George and Dennis; and three great grandchildren, Schaelee, Sela, Elise as well as two brothers, Edward and David Torrence both of East Palestine.

Friends will be received Friday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. A funeral servie will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Linsley-Royal Funeral Home in East Palestine with Deacon Chris Evans officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with a reception to be held at the Daus Dutch House in Columbiana following burial.
